The 2008 Schedule to come...
Mosey
on down to the Kids' Corral, where children and parents can
double their fun with activities that spur creativity while teaching
valuable lessons.
All ages
find delight in something at the Warren County Farmers Fair,
but every year the Fair proves to be a special wonder to children.
Be sure to visit The Kids Corral children activity area with
your children for some hands-on fun, clowning around and educational
demonstrations.
4-H members will be visiting the tent each day with their farm
animal pets and share their experiences with visitors. Your little
ones can also enjoy the clown shows of Merriloons and also Balloons the Clown.
The Kids Corral staff is happy to welcome back Diana Dove
of Dove Environmental Education. Crafts include making plaster
cast tracks of animal footprints, making clay pots using the coil
or pinch pot methods, and share information with kids and parents
on the importance of not littering. Some sessions are limited in space
and must start on time so please be sure to pick up a schedule daily
at the Kids Corral for times.
Many crafts are planned for all ages, including making sheep pins,
dream catchers, rain sticks, and crafts out of recyclables. These
craft projects are free of charge for all children attending the fair,
as space allows.
Fun food activities include making butter, bread & pizza. Enjoy
hands-on activities like bean & pasta mosaics, coloring and stamping,
and pasta jewelry making.
Special guests, The Pottery Zone, Isshin Ryu Karate Academy, Covanta
Energy, NJ Fish & Wildlife and NORWESCAP bring special educational
opportunities to the Kids' Corral.
Pick up a free coloring book, and our traditional matching-game cards
for the children. You will also want to pick up for yourself some
literature on subjects from A to Z from our literature rack. If you
are a homeschool mom, group leader or teacher, ask for our special
package of information and resources designed to help you with your
lesson plans.
Dont
miss The Big Picture Quilt Project and your chance
to win one of the 5 quilts made from the 2006 squares. Each year girls
and boys use fabric crayons, paints and markers to produce original
quilt squares. Younger childrens art is created on paper, and
then transferred to fabric. Older children work directly on quilt
material. Once completed, these individual quilt squares are joined
together to form a large colorful quilt, creating The Big Picture.
The quilts from the 2006 joint project will be on display during the
week of the Fair.
.
Don't
miss Fear Factor Veggie Style Do you have difficulty getting
your kids to eat vegetables? Maybe they will be up for the challenge
of Fear Factor Veggie Style, where we introduce you kids to a multitude
of flavors such as spinach, lima beans and raw zucchini. Check the
daily schedule board at the Kids Corral for times. Participants are
limited to 10 per session.
Stop by The Kids Corral each day you visit and pick up a schedule
of events for that day.
.
Visit
the Kids' Corral all day, any day, or day after day... the Fun is
always FREE!
The
Kids' Corral is open from 11:00 a.m. to 7:00 p.m. Sunday to Tuesday,
and 11:00 a.m to 8:00 pm Wednesday through Saturday, during the Fair.
